Hello Mechi Community!
February is Heart Health Month.
And when we hear “heart health,” most of us picture something clinical: numbers, checkups, treadmills, strict routines. It can feel serious, intimidating, or like something we’ll think about later.
But here’s what I keep coming back to: Your heart doesn’t know the difference between “exercise” and play. It just knows that you’re moving.
It responds to consistency. To rhythm. To moments where your breath deepens and your body comes alive.
At Mechi, we talk a lot about movement and community, and February feels like a powerful reminder that those things aren’t just fun or social. They’re protective. They’re preventative. They’re long-term care.

What “Moving for Your Heart” Really Means
Supporting your heart doesn’t require extreme workouts or overhauling your life.
In fact, research consistently shows that moderate, consistent activity, the kind you can sustain week after week, is one of the most powerful tools for improving cardiovascular health. That can look like:
Playing pickup soccer
Joining a weekly league
Taking a brisk walk with a friend
Dancing, skating, hiking
Any activity that gets your heart rate up and brings a little joy with it
It’s not about intensity. It’s about consistency.
And here’s something I’ve learned personally: when movement is social, it becomes sustainable. You’re not just showing up for your heart; you’re showing up for people.

Mom’s Hiking and Walking Club: Join our new moms hiking and walking group for fresh air, light movement, and meaningful connection. This weekly reset is all about community, conversation, and showing up as you are.
Women’s Soccer Training Sessions: Beginner-friendly, welcoming, and focused on building confidence and connection—not perfection. Sessions run every Monday and Friday, and you don’t need prior experience to join.
Indoor Futsal: Fast, fun, and a great way to get out of your head after a long workday.
Winter Soccer League : A consistent weekly rhythm that creates community, movement, and a reason to log off and step away from work.
