The July Flow - Mechi Newsletter

Hi Mechi Community,

One of the unexpected joys of having a one-year-old is that I've been reminded what play actually looks like.

My son doesn't need much to entertain himself. A ball, a cardboard box, or a spoon can keep him occupied for what feels like forever. Everything is new, everything is exciting, and movement is simply part of play. Watching him has made me realize something.

As adults, we don't really play anymore - We exercise. We train. We work out. We optimize.

But we rarely play.

What's fascinating is that researchers are finding that play isn't just important for children, it's important for adults too. Studies have shown that play can reduce stress, improve creativity, strengthen relationships, and even make us more likely to stick with healthy habits over time.

That last one really stood out to me.

Maybe the challenge isn't convincing people that movement is important. Maybe it's helping people rediscover movement they actually enjoy.

That idea came to life for us at FitFest.

We spent the day watching people take on our Soccer Bucket Challenge, and while the game itself was simple, what happened around it was the best part.

People laughed when they missed. Friends cheered each other on. Complete strangers shared tips and celebrated every successful shot. It wasn't about who made all three buckets—it was about having fun.

It was a great reminder that sometimes all it takes is a ball and a few minutes of play to completely change someone's energy.

That same idea is behind everything we're building this fall.
